As a Libertarian and Canton resident I'm concerned about the over-taxation of Ohioans and the bureaucratic red-tape that prevents the development of Ohio businesses and Ohioans themselves. I'm running to be the Ohio Representative for District 49 to make Ohioans more free, connected, and financially secure.
Repeal Property Taxes
A tax that never should have existed has gotten way out of hand and is making all Ohio property "owners" de-facto renters of their own property. The group Citizens for Property Tax Reform has led a strong push and as Representative I would work to get these burdensome taxes off the backs of Ohioans.
Help Preserve Liberty for Ohioans
Cities, villages, townships, have all been forming, growing , and all creating a inconsistent patchwork of laws and regulations. Ohio needs to better ensure the consistent liberty of all Ohioans and save itself from bureaucratic bloat.
Limit and complete the Football HoF complex without additional taxpayer burden
We need to stop what was has historically been a point of pride of our community from becoming an embarrassment. The way the project has been miss-managed, but the current government officials have sold the project to the public, then shifted the financial burden of its failures taxpayers. We don't need more of the same. As representative I'll work in the Statehouse and with stakeholder to get the project to a reasonable self-sufficient plan and ensure its not the taxpayers left to shoulder its financial burden.

Biography
Alex was born and raised in Ohio, leaving only to earn his college degrees and for the US Marine Corps. In 2003, Alex returned to his hometown to open a small coffeeshop in Downtown Canton without even enough money to buy and ice machine! A strong team and work ethic brought the business success as it has expanded to a coffee roasting and wholesale operation as well as four retail locations. Alex, his wife Morgan, and some of their seven children help to manage the company still. Alex, also a pilot, has volunteered on the boards of various non-profit and governmental organizations, bringing his evidence-based common sense mentality. Alex also directs a small property management company and bio-tech research lab. He still enjoys crafting coffee drinks for guests, working on various business and advocacy projects, dining with friends, primitive camping, farming with the dogs, and traveling with family.
